PROCEDURES FOR MAKING UP MISSED CLASSES

Students must attend at least 80% of a session to pass it. Any missed hours must be made up. If a class is missed, each student must arrange to make up the class and submit a record of missed and made-up classes.

If you miss up to 10% of classes (i.e., one day)

You are entitled to make up these classes (not exceeding the 10% limit) informally, by working on the course content with other students and reviewing the corresponding section in the workbook. If you wish, you may also take a private lesson with a teacher. It is your responsibility to arrange these lessons and pay the teacher. You are not required to report on how you make up these classes.

If you miss between 10% and 20% of the required classes (up to a maximum of two days)

You will need to make up these classes during a make-up session with a Corps sismographe instructor from the training program. It is up to you to schedule your make-up sessions. You must complete a session of at least 30 minutes to make up for a maximum of 2 hours of missed class time. You must complete these make-up sessions and submit the record of missed and made-up classes before the end of the session in order to receive a sufficient grade to pass the session. Please submit two copies of the completed forms, one for yourself and one for the administration.

You cannot miss more than 20% of the required classes and still pass the semester.

Vous pourrez continuer de suivre la formation sans valider vos travaux. Pour valider vos travaux, vous devrez rattraper cette session lors d'une autre édition Corps sismographe.

Make-up Sessions

Make-up sessions are mandatory if a student has missed more than 10% of the classes in a term. If an instructor determines that a make-up session is necessary due to an unsatisfactory physical demonstration by the student during class, they will provide written notification specifying the material to be reviewed, the preparation required of the student, a date and time, and a deadline for completing the session. These sessions are the student’s responsibility. Once the session has been successfully completed, the instructor will note this in writing for the student’s file. Students who attend but do not complete this session properly will not be able to have their work approved.

The rates charged by instructors for make-up sessions are as follows:

  • 1 student: €30/half hour
  • 1 student or more: €50/hour

Requirements Not Met

Failure to meet the minimum requirements by the end of a session results in a grade of “incomplete.” It is the student’s responsibility to determine what make-up work is needed to fulfill the mandatory requirements for the session in question by consulting with the program coordinator. Any remedial work must be completed within four weeks of the end of a course; otherwise, the semester cannot be considered completed. Any remedial work or additional time spent with a member of the teaching staff is the student’s responsibility.
